Unite and Celebrate!

This new year, in the wake of terror attacks, is very symbolic. The terrorists might have broken security barriers of our country but they will never break our brotherhood. This new year we should pray for those innocents killed due to the violent agenda cold blooded killers. We must share our emotions and grievances with the families of the martyrs who risked their lives for the very protection of the people. Let us forget our society denominations, unite and not divide and celebrate this New Year with hope and faith.

Wishing one and all a very advanced Happy New Year and may all your wishes for the year come true. :)

Pre-Holiday Food Drive!

I am going to share with you guys about Pre-Holiday Food Drive conducted by a very famous organization called Cydcor. They are promoting up on an event for a good cause in which we can do our share by promoting it.

Cydcor has stepped up its volunteer efforts and encouraged its employees to participate in a pre-holiday food drive. Amid an economic downturn that has contributed to rising need, many local food banks are seeing heavier demand during the non-holiday season. Cydcor Chief Executive Officer Gary Polson encouraged team members to get involved in Manna's food drive efforts after learning about the food banks' plight leading into the heavy-use holiday season. More than a dozen Cydcor employees immediately took action and purchased goods for the cause. I would like to ask one and all to promote this so as to help them in their volunteer efforts.

I will just quote the press release just for your information:

Cydcor Employees Donate to Pre-Holiday Food Drive

Team members of leading global provider of outsourced, face-to-face sales teams give groceries and hygiene products during economy slump.

Westlake Village, CA (PRWEB) November 11, 2008 -- Employees of Cydcor, the leading provider of outsourced, face-to-face sales teams, donated 26 bags of groceries and hygiene products to a Manna-sponsored food drive in October as part of the company's ongoing community philanthropy.

I'm thrilled that Cydcor team members are making an increasing difference in communities where we live, work and play through charitable efforts like this. This effort will benefit so many people at a time of increasing need," Polson said. "We hope to continue our donations in times when the collections hit a slump - before Thanksgiving, after Christmas and during the summer."

Cydcor puts a large emphasis on corporate philanthropy. In 2008, the company launched Cydcor Cares' Volunteer Day and Neighborhood Leaders Program, both of which are internal programs to encourage team members to become more involved in their local communities and volunteer their time to charity, occasionally during work hours. Since 2007, Cydcor has maintained a partnership with Casa Pacifica, a residential treatment facility in Camarillo for abused, neglected and emotionally disturbed children.

Every festival is Christmas!

Life is short and the end is fast approaching. So, in the light of the recent terror attacks, the festive spirit is highly important and is the need of the hour. Religion, to me is only a path to reach God and all paths, however diverse, all lead to the same goal and hence, every festival, celebrated righteously, with the true spirit of brotherhood, is Christmas.

Lawyers for your Need!

Everybody makes mistake. Without denying the fact that its absolutely wrong to commit a crime, I would say there should be chance given for the one who commits or does any sort of wrong doing, to turn over a new leaf.

With this as a base, I would like to share a pretty interesting website which basically deals with criminal defence law in California. The Los Angeles Criminal and DUI Defense Attorneys at Kestenbaum Eisner & Gorin LLP provide answers to many of these common legal questions at their law firm daily. Questions such as, what happens when someone is arrested, how does someone gets bailed out, is there a requirement for criminal defence lawyer when someone is wrongly accused and many such questions are answered in a very efficient manner. The law firm is established to provide best solution possible for all the cases it gets and aims at helping out in very approachable manner.

I have always respected the profession of lawyers as I feel they play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy society. A good lawyer is one who reads the situation well, does a lot of ground work and make the right move to provide the needed information and other things to safeguard his client. This is how everything is done in this law firm.

Classes in C++

This post might just be a little technical. It is dedicated to all those who are going for an interview. This is a very common question so let me just share whatever I know of classes.

Most languages offer primitive data types like int, long and float. Their data representation and response to arithmetic, assignment and relational operators are defined as part of the language. However, the language does not know user-defined data types. The programmer defines its format and behaviour by defining a class. For example, there can be a user-defined data type to represent dates. The compiler and the computer do not know about dates. Programmers have to define the behaviour of dates by designing a date class. This class expresses the format of date and the operations that can be performed on it. The way we can declare many variables of the primitive type int, we can define many objects of the date class. A class serves as a blueprint or a plan or a template. It specifies what data and what functions will be included in objects of that class. Defining the class does not create any objects, just as the mere existence of a type int does not create any variables.

Holodomor Truth!

I am going to share one interesting piece of information with you guys. It is the holodomor truth! You might be wondering what is it about. It is nothing but the truth about 'Holodomor of 1932-1933'. Scholarly arguments and facts about the 'Golodomor' in the Soviet Union.

So now the first question that might strike your mind is, what is a holodomor? The term 'Golodomor' means the mass hunger or the great hunger that caused millions of victims throughout the Soviet Union in 1932-1933. It is estimated around 6-8 million peasants deaths during the famine of 1932-1933.

The Soviet famine of 1932-1933 affected most major grain-producing agricultural areas of the Soviet Union, including Northern Caucasus, Volga Region, South Urals, West Siberia, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine. The Communist governments of the Soviet Republics seized grains from the peasantry and exported most of their Republic's agricultural output to the West in order to sustain the rapid economic transformation "Industrialization" and "Collectivization", a policy designed by Joseph Stalin.

These were some of the quotes which I found in their website. They have many such interesting information and answers for questions like:

Was the Golodomor a genocide?

Golodomor or Holodomor?

Though it may not be the happiest piece of article for reading, it would still give a good read and something that will increase your general knowledge.

A Thrilling End!

The final test match of the year for India as well as England is poised for a thrilling finish. The match is in balance right now it is possible for anything to happen tomorrow.

It all depends on who comes out on a attacking frame of mind tomorrow as time will play a crucial issue. We have seen delays in start due to fog for all these four days so a delay is expected even tomorrow. If England gets early wickets and wrap up Indian innings anything below 300 then they will have a chance to win provided they bat well.

Indians on the other hand, if they score some quick runs and declare at around lunch, with the kind of form the Indian bowlers are in, they would have enough time to bowl England out and seal the series. I can't wait for tomorrow as it is going to be really interesting and entertaining!

Community for Entertainment!

I am personally aware of many social networking websites these days. Websites like Orkut, Friendster, Hi5, Facebook have all been pretty useful in building our social network. I just noticed another website called as the acobay, which is not really for sharing pictures, exchanging messages etc. but rather to help people who own or use same products, or visited the same places to network each other.

I just felt it is something very different and interesting as we learn lot of things of other people, their day-to-day activities and many such exchanges to keep our day filled with entertainment.

The procedure is very simple as you just have to register with them without even having to give your e-mail, put down something that you have like car, phone or camera and comment on what you would like to share which will connect you to people who have chosen the same stuffs. You may even add some stuffs to your wish list.

This actually helps you in gathering ideas, different thoughts, perspectives and plenty of information on something that you want to know. This is the unique feature of this website which I thought was really good. It is very simple yet very entertaining, so try it out!

Indians in full Control!

The second and final test match between India and England is going on in Mohali. It is the 4th day of the match and clearly the Indians are in full control of the match. They're leading by 151 runs with an innings to go for both teams.

Eventhough a draw would be enough for the Indians to seal the series, they would be looking to win the match thereby ending a very disappointing tour for England. They have already lost the ODI series 5-0 and losing the test series also 2-0 would bring their morale down ahead their series against West Indies.

Dream Deals!

The basic needs that you may require upon starting a business are utilities such as computers, printers, desk, furniture and so on for your office. It will be a very big headache when you think of the amount that you will have to invest on all these. This post of mine might just solve all those headaches as I came across a website which offers discount coupons and online promotion codes for stores that are very commonly used for these purposes.

They are the primary source for Office Depot coupons, Office Max coupons and Staples coupon code. Now that Christmas is also fast approaching, they are offering Christmas sales on electronics items and other accessories as well. You can easily access all the discount coupons for office accessories, electronic items, stationary items etc. right from the comfort of your house. We have to grab the opportunity when it comes knocking on our doors as I feel this is a very good bargain and nowhere else we get opportunity like this. Products like computer and electronic items may be purchased for personal use as well. It is much more cheaper when you get it this way rather than going to a store and ordering which is very taxing and expensive comparatively.

I am really satisfied of this deal and hope this piece of information would be good for you guys. :)

In need of a 4-Wheeler!

I am sure many of you guys reading my blog will be having good knowledge of cars and information related to it. I am looking for suggestions from you guys as my father is planning to buy a new car to replace our current one. Our monthly running is 1,000-1,200 km. We are looking for a car that is comfortable especially the rear portion and of course hassle-free to own.

It will be mostly chauffeur-driven and occasionally driven by me. :P I was actually considering the Laura Ambiente, but it exceeds our budget. I love the looks and interiors of Honda Civic, especially the "V" variant but I am not very sure of its performance. From what I have heard it is not very fuel efficient.

If any of you have any ideas that matches my criteria, kindly let me know. :)

Lawyers for your Guide!

We make mistakes as a human. What matters most is the level of seriousness involved in the mistake we commit. Every human deserves a chance to turn over a new leaf whatever wrong he/she might have committed.

Los Angeles DUI Defence Attorneys | California Drunk Driving Lawyers guides one in any tough situations and deals with all the questions that comes to you regarding laws, arrests and other details related to it.

I hope this piece of information be useful for anyone who is in need of it. I just hope everyone obeys the law and order set for a safe lifestyle.

Negative Impact!

In this world of sky-rocketing prices, when every eligible adult family member is pushed to earning, where does one find time for physical fitness? Lack of physical fitness leads to many health problems, when we cross the age of 40.

Because of the highly competitive academic world, children are not allowed to do a little stretching in the evenings, since it is considered a "waste of time" by parents. Despite reading many articles on occupational health and postures, how often do we observe the same in our busy office schedule? Sufficient focus on health alone can shield the impact of this changing lifestyle!

Warmth for this Winter!

I am a huge follower of fashionable stuffs. From the clothes we wear to the accessories I will always be on the look out for interesting or catchy stuffs. The way we present ourselves is really crucial these days as it plays a major role in all aspects these days. When we go for interview, the interviewer give points for how we dress up and present ourselves apart from the technical knowledge.

Since it is winter now, I was desperately looking to get a woolen coat. I came to know of an online mart which sells mens cashmere coats. What impressed me most was the fact that it had several variety and stylish wool overcoats. They were all unique and nowhere else I have seen this much varieties and designs. Another striking aspect of it was, all those wool overcoats were made of the finest wool’s in the world.

The primary purpose it should serve is, it should be good quality wise and also effective in the sense that it should keep myself warm. The other factor which I expected was, I should look good wearing it so that it portrays a good image of myself. Upon looking at the model coats in their website I got assured that it will satisfy both my expectations. I liked the Darwin in particular as the color was really unique and the cuttings were perfect for my body fittings. The price of it was also really affordable and it would be a great bargain for me to get a coat of high quality at an affordable rate.

The OZ power!

While all focus has been on India vs England Test series, the top two ranked nations are playing what is turning out to be a great match. Australia clearly dominated the match for almost all sessions except the last when South Africa made a stunning come back. South Africa were set a challenging target of 414 runs with a day and 2 sessions. Smith and Amla played brilliantly to give South Africa a great start guided them to situation where a win seems likely for them now.

Just when South Africa seemed to take control of the match, Johnson struck for the Aussies removing the in form Smith. That actually broke the partnership and Amla didn't last long either as he lost his wicket to Brett Lee. I feel now the match is in balance and whoever performs tomorrow will emerge as the winners.

Safeguard your Vehicle!

Everybody knows my love for cars. I really love it and I am too passionate about it. In fact I take care of my car just like how I take care of my wife and my family. I value it so highly and it is precious according to me. Now being more general, in spite of all the care that we take care of our vehicle, the risk factor will always be there.

I came to know about us fidelis which basically offers extended warranty for vehicles. It will be really beneficial during time of service and high auto repair costs that we might have to spend on. They offer several other services such as Rental Car, 24 hours roadside assistance, Trip Interruption Protection etc. Do check out their website and I am sure by getting associated with them we will feel secure about our vehicle.

It is do or die situation!

Yes I am talking about England's situation in the second test match played in Mohali. After getting solid a start, thanks to Gambhir and Dravid, Indians are looking comfortable and piling up the runs. England did show signs of comeback when they took quick wickets of Sachin Tendulkar, V.V.S Laxman but Yuvraj Singh and M.S Dhoni has consolidated the innings and been getting the needed runs.

It won't affect the Indians much even if the game ends in a draw as they have already won the 1st Test match in Chennai. This means that for England, it is a must win match to level the series. Anything other than a win would compile the misery for England as they already were beaten in the ODI Series 5-0.

Protect your House!

The recent flood near my place caused havoc in and around my area. This brought about the concern in me about my home as I have spent lots of money investing and doing some interiors. As this being my first ever investment, it is a sentimental house for me and thereby I want to protect it any cost. Now if due to some natural disasters or other unwanted happenings if I am made to lose my house, it would be really unfortunate. Therefore I decided on taking up a home insurance just for precautionary purpose.

Another thing is in the future if I plan on to rent my house, and if there are some damages caused by the person to whom I rent, I can be assured of reclaiming by original house without much trouble. These things influenced me upon going for Ann Arbor Home Insurance. They seemed to be the best in business when compared to other and I strongly suggest one and all to consider them if in case you are planning for a home insurance as well.

UEFA CL draw

The draw for the UEFA Champions League quarter finals took place yesterday. My personal view of the draw was that, we viewers are in for a treat as there are matches that could have been potential final.

When you have matches like Inter Milan vs Manchester United, Real Madrid vs Liverpool, Chelsea vs Juventus, Barcelona vs Lyon, Roma vs Arsenal, you might be wondering why are there top teams meeting each other at such an early stage. The reason behind this was in the group stage several top teams had finished as runner up and thereby causing this situation.

As I have already mentioned these matches could have been a potential final and we as football fans are previledged to watch more than one final. ;)

Be Safe than Sorry!

Last night I had a bad dream about me facing death. I have always valued my family more than anyone else. My wife, children, parents all played a crucial role on all my achievements this far and it would not be fair on my part to just leave them when that dream becomes a reality.

It is not that I don't care about them now, I have always shown my care and concern on all matters to each and every member of my family. But it is when I am not around that I am really concerned now. Whether they would be able to or not able to survive is another issue. For my satisfaction I realized the need to do something for my family even after any potential negative happenings.

I came to know of NAA Life’s mortgage insurance and several other plans which I felt would do justice to my family in any worst cases. I felt it is just not about a piece of paper but rather a sense of satisfaction and an investment in piece of mind. Their plan included the likes of burial insurance, life insurance, mortgage protection insurance, etc. Each plan has a detailed listing which I went through thoroughly and it gave me the satisfaction that my family would be protected even in the case of my death.

IceCreams = Yummy!

If there is one thing in this world that I cannot or rather hard to live without, it is ice creams. I have ice cream very frequently as they are too delicious for my liking. I can even go without food for 3 continuous days but I cant live without ice cream for that long a period.

I am really choosy about the flavors I have. So far the best is "cassata" followed by chocolate, pista, strawberry and vanilla. I openly declare that if anyone wants to get something from me, you may actually get it easily by bribing me with ice creams. :P

Incorporate for better business!

World is getting really competitive these days. Every business we do, whether it is a small scale business or a large scale business, we have to put in efforts to reach heights and achieve our goals. I thought of writing this post for all those who are about to start a small business.

Having experience of starting a business of my own, I do agree the fact that initial stages of starting a business will be tough but as we work, we will definitely get the experience to face all situations boldly. Making decisions is really crucial in business. Now I shall put you guys on spot and make you think especially for all those who are about to start a small business.

I really felt it is absolutely necessary for those who are starting a small business to consider incorporating their new company. Now I am sure you might wonder why it is so. The two primary reasons to incorporate a business are that, there is no personal liability for the obligations and debts of the business and secondly by incorporating, it gives your business or the company a professional touch. Now, that is really crucial as your company's image is at stake. Another thing that I would like to mention here is that you can actually incorporate a business in any state and the best part is it can be done in no time without a lawyer or anything. Other benefits include lowered personal liability and favorable tax treatment.

You might be wondering who to approach now for this. You need not worry about that as I have found a very able website in the name of Clickandinc.com. I felt it is a step higher than other in business mainly because of the fact that it focuses exclusively on small business owner. Once you form an llc your business is assured of reaching great heights thereby giving you the much needed satisfaction of doing something really useful. So I suggest one and all to look into it without any hesitation.

The great Wall of India

"The wall is back". I am pretty sure most of my readers would know who I mean by wall. It is none other than Rahul Dravid. After going through a bad patch in his cricketing carrier, he seemed to have found his touch back as he scored a half century in the test match against England.

Although he had a nervous start and couple of close calls of getting out, he managed to get the momentum going as he played some brilliant shots. His innings was somewhat slow as he recorded strike rate of less than 40 per 100 balls but nevertheless it stabilized the Indian innings after the loss of Virender Sehwag early. I believe India would be stepping up a gear looking to increase the scoring rate after the steady start today. England on the other hand would be looking to take early wickets and put India under pressure.

Web Hosting Details!

In today's modernized world, almost everything is getting computerized. Every organizations or at least those that I know, has a website of their own. It is actually a good source of advertisement as it is getting exposed to internet users around the world.

These days it is also getting common for an individual to have a website for personal use. I personally have seen many of them hosting their blog in a website or having a forum for discussion or uploading songs/videos for others to download and for many such reasons. Now that it is getting very popular I have also noticed few people who are having similar interests but not having idea on how to integrate the contents into the website.

Therefore I decided to write a post just to help them with information such as domain purchase, the web hosting part etc. I just browsed through the internet and came across a website which had web hosting reviews, ratings and stuffs. They had in depth details of several categories including, listing of Web Hosting Rating, Web Hosting Awards, Web Hosting Reviews and other details which definitely will be helpful for anyone. I personally felt that it is a very reliable website and the information provided are valid and that for all those planning to host a website, it is the perfect place to browse through and get the reviews.

The battle continues....

The second test match between England and India starts tomorrow. This will be the final match of the series and thus England would be hoping to level the series while India would look to seal a 2-0 whitewash.

The first match was one that would remain in everyone's mind for the fact that India created history by chasing the highest 4th innings total in sub-continent wicket. India start as favorites but cricket is a strange game as anyone on their day can win. England would be looking for some consolidation because they failed to register a win even in the One Day series losing that 5-0.

I am really looking forward to watch the match just like everyone else in India, I believe. :)

Clasico and Classy Viru!

Entertainment at its best. That was just to summarize my entire day's experience today. It started as early as 2.30 am in the morning. The El Clasico was a class of its own. Attacking football at its best. I was sitting right at the edge of my sofa watching each and every moment of the game with great interest. I thought Real Madrid had the best chance in the first half when a 1-1 chance was left begging. Eventually Barcelona managed to squeeze in two late goals to seal an impressive win that extended their lead at the top of the table and looking good to win this year's championship.

Next up was the cricket match. For four full days England dominated each and every sessions and had actually given India a mountain to climb in the final innings but then with Sehwag in the team nobody ever can write India off. For a moment it looked as though it was a twenty-twenty match. He scored 80 odd runs at a blistering pace putting India in a position they never hoped to be in. Although it is still tough, Sehwag's innings has given India slight hopes of clinching the match provided a decent response from other batsmen.

It had been a great day thanks to all that I have mentioned.

Gems for the Weekend

It is one of those weekends which I am really looking forward not because of any outings, gatherings etc but to just stay home. It might sound boring but I am pretty sure no football fans in the world would want to miss what I call as two gem of a match.

In Italian Serie A the Old lady clashes with Red Devils. These matches always produces stunning entertainment. When you have personals like Ronaldinho, Kaka, Maldini, Del Piero, Buffon all battling in one single ground, what more would one ask for the weekend?

The second match is the El Classico, Barcelona vs Real Madrid. Its the clash of the giants in the Spanish League and similarly plenty of star players associated with each team will be battling it out for the glory. I will be glued to my sofa this weekend, the only difference unlike other occasions will be that I wont be bored. :)

Crack in the Wall!!

As much as I used to love Dravid's technique, I am forced to agree that time has come for him to call it a day. He has been great in the past without any doubt but he is going through the worst patch in his player carrier.

His average has been pretty low both in the Sri Lanka series as well as the home series against the Aussies. His poor forms comes no only through his bat but also in the slip position where he is missing sitters. Very clearly his confidence is low and I personally feel it is about time for him to quit before he is forced out.

I usually say form is temporary but class is permanent but whether this applies to Dravid's case, I doubt!

Reality Faced

The reality is faced. The 1st session of the cricket match between India and England just got over. After winning the toss, England dominated the session without losing a wicket and scoring 64 runs. Their two opening batsmen Andrew Strauss and Allister Cook built a steady partnership in spite of starting slow.

They invaded the pace attack of Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma brilliantly which actually forced M S Dhoni, indian skipper to bring on the spin attack as early as the 20th over. That didn't really change the cause as both the English batsmen played the spinners with ease.

More to follow.... :)

Galacticos Failure!

The first thing that strikes our mind upon hearing this term is Real Madrid. They were the inventors of this famous word that basically refers to the purchase of a star player. Even though it combines to form a mouth-watering team on paper, success was never guaranteed. Those times the team had all the ingredients or the capability to conquer everything.

Just imagine how would a team be consisting of players like David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Raul Gonzales, Casillas. These players all formed the Galacticos. But to everyone's surprise they never managed to put on a consistent performance thereby proving to the world that having star players in the team doesn't guarentee success.

Another famous example which I noticed regarding this matter was during the IPL season. Take into consideration Rajasthan royals and Deccan Chargers. Deccan Chargers were filled with star players like Adam Gilchrist, Symonds, Afridi, Gibbs who are prooven players in the world cricket but where did they end up?

Now take Rajasthan Royals, apart from Shane Warne who also lacked some good international cricket due to his retirement, they never had a "star" player but they managed to win the league with very good collective team performance. I hope I have given enough evidence to show that Galacticos if not always, most of the time fails. :)

Back to Chepauk Madness!

The last time I was at the stadium watching cricket match was during the IPL. That was ultimate fun one could never even imagine of. The dance, the beat, the mexican wave, shouting and yelling, babe watching. Babe watching? Yes these days you need not go to beach or shopping malls to watch babes, you can find hell a lot even in the stadium. They come there to watch the likes of Dhoni and co. but we go there to watch cricket and of course these gift of god. :P

Now getting back to the topic, the primary reason for me along with my mates to go there is to have total fun forgetting all the tensions we go through at home or colleges or even work. Now that the Test series between England and India is about to begin I am getting ready to mask my face, paint all around, and enjoy 5 days of action filled events. From my past experiences you actually get a lot more than just the cricket. Whether I get that, time will tell. :)

Langkawi - Malaysia - Truely Asia

This topic might sound strange to many. It is nothing but a holiday resort located in Malaysia. The reason I am writing about it is mainly because it is too good a place to spend our holiday.

We had actually went by a plane from Singapore and spent some solid one week over at the resort named Langkasuka Resort. Our room was simply stunning as the view from our balcony was breathtaking. We were actually able get direct view of the sunrise which was like amazing. The quality of food, entertainment and hospitality of the resort hotel were something that is worth mentioning.

It is the perfect location to be both with family as well as your loved one. The ambiance just makes it even more romantic which might just please your partner. If you guys are planning on a holiday and not sure of the destination then this place might just suit you. Have fun!

Champion of Champions

As I was browsing the internet, I found a very interesting game going on in espnstar.com. It is basically called as the Champion of Champions 2008. They have listed some 16 exceptional performers of various sports in this year and randomly have paired them. What we as users have to do is to pick one among those two by voting and the one with more number of votes will proceed to the next round.

The famous list of sporting personalities are Pacquiao, Rossi, Hamilton, Torres, Alex Ferguson, Tiger Woods, Tendulkar, Nadal, Phelps, CR7, Nicol, Bolt, MS Dhoni, Ganguly, Kobe and Abhinav Bindra. So caste your vote and see who emerges as the Champion of Champions.

Should I be Happy for this or Sad for that?

When there are two events of extremes happening concurrently, the dilemma arises as to whether feel happy for the positive event or to feel sad for the other. Life has taught me lots of lessons this far and many times I have been through this situation.

I would like to share one such situation of mine where in at one point of my life, I was made to sacrifice one love for another. Although the ideal situation would be to keep hold of both but circumstances forced me to sacrifice one which was really really sad. What got me going is the fact that I had something else equally to replace it. Ever since that, I learned that nothing in life is permanent and that one should never feel down upon losing a valuable and just get on with life. The valuable I mean here can be anything.

Floody time!

I personally experienced one of the worst rainfalls during my entire life. It was raining heavily continuously for 4 days which actually brought about water log to my surroundings. At one point there was even the risk of water entering my house.

Fire service personals were called in to rescue few people who were trapped in their house. When I walked out of my flat, I realized that the water was till my hip and increasing more so because of the fact that the lake nearby to my house started to overflow.

During all this while, the electricity was turned off and I had to stay home without electricity for two full days! That was too boring to handle for me. Just imagine staying home without computer, television! Now that rain has stopped and its a great relief for us and normal services has resumed. :)

Mumbai Strikes!

The scene of attack in Mumbai's bus terminal, Taj hotel, and Trident just brought me shivers. I have never witnessed such thing carried it for real. It was more like a movie's climax scene. I read about several first hand experiences comments made by those who were there and it I was able to feel how close they were to death.

One couple who were there in hotel got separated because of this attack as the lady lost her husband while trying to escape from the hotel room. The husband got shot by the terrorist while the wife managed to escape somehow. It is sometimes hard to understand the motives of these terrorists as innocent people's life are taken to stake.

These events just brings about the anger and the eagerness to destroy terrorists out there instantly!

Happy Birthday!!

This post is dedicated to my dear friend. First of all wishing you a very very happy birthday and hope you have wonderful years ahead, succeeding in every aspect of your life. You have always had negative thoughts about me but honestly it has never been my intention to hurt you or anything of those sort. I have always wanted to make you happy and see you happy(might sound a little too much but thats fact). Maybe in the past I was wrong in getting involved in too much conversational exchanges but that was not for any specific purpose but just wanted to be your best companion. I never knew that would lead you to some feelings which I dont want to mention here but nevertheless you have been special and will be special always. I was able to take in whatever you have given me in the past except for the last that was just way too hurting to bare. Anyway wishing you again a Happy Birthday and may you have a prosperous career and a happy life. :)

Let us salute our DADA!!

It was the end of Border-Gavaskar trophy. India deservedly won the series 2-0. They completely outplayed the Aussies in all departments and clinched the series much to the delight of all the fans.

It was a memorable series for several factors. This series was the last for Anil Kumble and Sourav Ganguly as they announced their retirement upon conclusion of the series. Plenty of emotions were seen and felt as both of them were really well established in the Indian cricket team

Sourav Ganguly also called as DADA by his faithfuls has been the most successful captain for the Indian Team. He has led the team to several tour victories as well as the home series. He was also one of the most stylish left-hand batsman the world has every witnessed after Brian Lara. His shots are simply a treat to watch as it will be filled with elegance and brilliance. Not many in the world play spinners well but he has been one exception. He did have problems towards the end of his carrier but he never allowed that to grow as he made a stunning comeback in the South Africa-India series performing consistently in that.

The decision of him retiring after this series was really shocking for all his faithfuls as he has been performing well and will be missed but maybe he wanted to end his carrier on a high note and thus it might have influenced him on making this decision. Nevertheless let us all salute this living legend for all his services given to the game of cricket.

As one among the TATA

This post is going to be about my first ever interview experience. It was my campus interview semester. All talks about this semester being the turning point in my life from everyone made me sick. I wanted just to enjoy my last few semesters in college as much as possible and not want to put any pressure onto myself.

I never took this serious but I wanted to face it. The semester began some 15 days before the first company (TCS) came to our campus. I had actually flunked in 2 papers the semester before. So that being an issue, I wouldn’t be able to sit for companies that doesn’t allow arrears or even companies that allows just 1 arrear. TCS actually allowed 2 arrears therefore I was eligible to sit for their interview. Even if I wasn’t eligible for any of the companies I had this self-confidence that there’ll be some company waiting for me thereby not putting myself under any pressure. :D

Most of my friends in class were very serious about this and they were seen with the RS Agarwal book doing the aptitude problems whenever they get free hour. That had actually got into me and made me feel if I’m taking things too lightly. After all I’m just a normal human. :DWe then had a placement program for a week. It was total waste and nothing was gained apart from the GD session we had. We enjoyed the GD also mainly because the person conducting it was good looking. :D

The interview happened to be during my birthday week. Lots of wishes came in saying that my best ever birthday gift would be to get a job in TCS. It was at that time then I realized that if I’m going to flunk in TCS it will really be tough to even sit for companies that came after it (infosys, HCL and so on). Though I still didn’t start to work for it by practicing the aptitudes and stuffs, I mentally had this hunger to somehow get this job.

Then finally the day came. There was some sort of tension. I wasn’t at all feeling good to have my breakfast as I wanted this day to end positively as soon as possible. But eventually I was forced to have the breakfast and I left to college after ensuring that I’ve taken all the documents and things that were required for the interview. It was somewhat an unusual sight in my college. Everybody were in formals having a file and somewhat tensed and not in the usual manner.

I understood the situation and very soon we were asked to be seated in the auditorium for the TCS people to give pre-interview talks. They showed their presentation video and spoke about the schedule for the day and where to assemble for aptitude test, interviews and stuffs.

Once it got over, I was put in 2nd batch for the aptitude test. It was a long wait and once those who were in the 1st batch came out, I saw some happy faces and some looked really disappointed. So from that reaction I came to know who got selected and who didn’t. There wasn’t any time to even go and talk to those who were done with aptitude test. Within minutes our batch was called in.

It was an online test. I entered my user-id and password and started the test. I had my full concentration on the test and didn’t think about anything else. The toughest part was when the test was completed and when about to click the submit button. Once the submit button was clicked it’ll either say “Congratulations, and please proceed to next stage” or “Sorry, better luck next time” but there’ll never be a next time!. I clicked the submit button and while it was processing, I was really tensed and nervous. I just didn’t want the day to end this early.

To my relief, the window displayed a positive result and I was able to proceed to the next stage. Next is the technical interview! I very well knew the fact that this round is my weakest link. What I had planned was to talk some crap for any questions asked and just not remain silent or a response with “I don’t know” and just hope for the best.

While waiting for my turn I had this chance to interact with one beautiful HR from TCS.:P She seemed very young and she was actually the support staff who take in the forms and do other works. So I took the chance to ask her if the interview will be tough and what will they be expecting from us and so on. She just smiled and replied to me saying “just be confident and don’t show any sort of tension”. At that time I didn’t know what that smile meant.

Then my turn came. There were 2 interviewers for me and both of them were male and seemed to be in late 20’s. One from that panel asked me to introduce myself. I took this opportunity to talk for at least 10 minutes and told him about my history, background. Then he himself went on asking what my area of interest is. I replied saying my two area of interests which I had already planned before. The two area of interests I told was “theory of computation” and “computer networks”. I actually had put in lots of efforts to decide on these two areas of interest even before the interview. Theory of computation mainly because I very well knew this subject is theoretical and therefore the chances of interviewer being aware of this subject are very less. At the same time I just learnt this subject the previous semester and so I had this confidence of talking some stuff that’s related to it.

The plan worked out to perfection. He asked me simply to tell whatever I know about TOC (theory of computation). From the way he asked this question itself I understood that he knew nothing about this.:D If he had known this subject he wouldn’t have bluntly asked about TOC. I took this chance and vomited my entire 5 Units in that subject and briefly explained to him about those details. From his reaction I was able to make out that he was satisfied.

Next came the funny part. He asked me “what is a bus?” I was actually shocked for a moment because out of nowhere he asked me “what is a bus?”. Before explaining the funny part here, the thing that should be noted here for all those non IT background people reading this is, bus is a networking terminology. It is one of the topologies used in computer networks. That I knew very well but I wasn’t really sure if that’s what he had meant or was it some kind of stress interview he was doing to me. There were all kinds of rumors before the interview that TCS has this thing called a stress interview and that is done mainly to test the person’s calmness or whatever. Realizing that, I calmly replied saying “A bus is a mode of transport”. Before I could even continue, the 2 interviewers started laughing. I wasn’t sure how to respond to that situation and so I remained silent with an unnatural smile. Then he asked again to me and this time clearly asked me “what is a bus topology?”. :D I told him some crap explanation that came to my mind at that time and he asked me if whatever I was telling was correct. Frankly I wasn’t sure if what I told was correct but I responded confidently saying that whatever I said was correct. :D

Then I was tested on some queries (DBMS). Thankfully, he asked me that instead of some other programming languages like C++ or java because if he had asked me from that then it would’ve been curtains! But DBMS was the only lab subject I was good at mainly because it’s bloody simple. :D

After about 20-30 minutes of interaction with him, he finally concluded and asked me to wait at the entrance. At the waiting area, one more guy from ECE dept. (vijay karthik) was also waiting and we were just discussing about the interview questions asked to us. While doing that, the lady, whom I was talking with initially, came and called out “Vijay Karthik, you’re selected and please proceed to HR interview”. The more I was made to wait, the more anxious and restless I started to become.

Then finally my moment came, the lady read out “Arvind, please proceed to HR interview” and that gave me a huge sense of relief. I knew after coming this far, I will not let this opportunity go off in HR round. So my confidence level got up and I was pretty sure I am going to make it. Without any break, I straight went to the HR interviewer desk and stood and greeted him. He asked me to sit and was enquired how my day has been so far. I told him everything was going on well and hope everything goes according to my liking when the day ends as well. :P He smiled and had my resume. He noted my achievements I got in football. He asked me some football related questions. I told him a-z about football without any pause: D. He asked me if had this chance to represent the national team and at the same time have this project in TCS and its deadline being the next day, what would I do? That was a testing question and I knew it required a smart answer! Now ill put you guys on spot and u comment on what you would’ve answered before I tell what I answered. ;)

He asked few more questions about the college and he thanked me and said “hope to see you in TCS”. I didn’t know if that was a positive thing or whether the word “hope” means my selection was in doubt. I went out and discussed with my classmates (karthik, sombu, ganesh, laxman, manoj and few more). Then my senior Wencut and one more of my friend from other college, Sneha, came to college and was talking to them before the result was about to be announced.

After a long wait, at around 11.45 pm the result was announced. And all the names were being called and finally as soon as I heard my name being called, the joy was immense! I was totally out of this world and I wasn’t sure if whatever happened was just a dream or if it was real. I called up my parents who were waiting anxiously to tell that I got selected and that ill come back and talk. :D

Everything got over and I just felt great about myself because, more than anyone else this was huge for me, for the reason I told before. 28th June 2007 is one of the most memorable days for me in my life calendar. :D

PS: While writing this I just got a message saying my call for TCS will be in December. :p

The honeymoon period!!

Ever since college got over, many of them are under the impression that I have been idle but I have done plenty of things in this period, more than what I did while I was in college. It had positive effect both financially as well as entertainment.

I have been playing almost everyday since college got over. It has been really jolly times with all my mates in the famous SCG, a ground where we play cricket and football. During the early days after college, we had around 20 of us turning up to play. We divided ourselves into two teams and usually start off with a game of cricket followed by football.

It's not just about sports because our gossip sessions after that equally matched the entertainment level of the games we played. Those gossips combined with cracking of jokes will just make anyone's day.

Then it was the part time which I did for Renault. That was again fun as it gave me the opportunity to interact with lots of people and gave me the chance to learn lots of new things and at the same time earn! Once that got over, we had some dinner outings and beach outings. These are some moments which I will always cherish in my life. What more one could as for? This has really been a honey moon period for me. ;)

When we are spoilt for choices!

I've always had this interesting thought on what will happen when you are actually spoilt for choices. I mean when u have two options which are equally good and from that you have to make one choice. It will be a situation where in you will feel like having both but then u have to forgo one and take one.

Say for instance,

Asin or Shreya?

Sachin or Dhoni?

Katrina or Bipasha?

Arxman or Lagaar? (Only for people who know about this)

Laxman or Arjun(Water)?

Evening cricket in SCG or Evening at Bessy?

You will be put in a situation where you wish you can have both. What will and shall be done when you're in those situations?

In my real life I can think of one situation where I had to make a tough choice from two options. At one point of my life I was forced to choose between football or studies. When I was representing for my club in juniour team I had this chance of getting through to the seniour side which means I should give up my studies and take football as my carrier. That was really a tough choice for me to make because eventhough I wanted badly to become a football player,I didnt want to quit studies at such an early part of my life. In the end I had to give up football and took the other option and because of that now I'm here writing this post. :D

Unqualified Disaster!!

I woke up 10 in the morning. It seemed to be a fine day as usual. The day before only I had work and I was dead tired so I had decided to have a good sleep and enjoy the whole day after 2 days of continuous work. This day also happened to be the day when my mom and dad were to be back from Singapore.

My plan for the day was simple!

1. To laze around until 4 pm
2. Take the car from my cousin
3. Dinner with friends in dhaba
4. Pick my parents from airport

If football is my first wife, then my car I can deign it to be my scandal. :P While I was on the way, I saw a deadly gang fight near a wine shop. It was really shocking as I saw those people beating one another using the bottles and that scene was horrible. I got really disturbed seeing that and had this strange feeling of something bad happening to me that day. But at the same time the thought of having the car back after a long time and roaming around the city in it made me feel slightly better.

As soon as I got the car, I went to dhaba to have dinner with my friends. We went there at around 8.30 pm. My moms flight was scheduled at 1030 pm and I was there in dhaba until around 10 pm. It was a fine dinner and everything was smooth until disaster struck while executing my last and final plan of the day, to pick my mom in airport!

You might feel that im showing off but before I explain what exactly the disaster was, I’d like to tell that my driving ability is something I’ve always been proud of. I am one who never likes to be distracted by anything while driving, my full concentration will always be on the road whether I’m driving a car or riding a bike. I obey all the rules and ive always kept up my safety measures while driving.

I was nearing nandanam signal. It was a 3 lane road. I was driving my car in the center lane accelerating at around 80 km/h. A mahindra scorpia car came speeding on the right lane and when at the point the scorpio car was just beside my car in centre lane, the scorpio driver abruptly tried to shift his car to my lane in order to overtake the car in front of his, in his lane, not noticing my car beside. I saw his car moving to my lane and when I realized he’s going to crash on my car, I immediately shifted my car to the leftmost lane to avoid both our cars to crash. Had our cars crashed it would’ve been deadly because he was clocking more than 80 km/h and mine was around the same speed. In that speed if the two cars had even kissed it would’ve been real bad. Before I had any time to even feel safe, I spotted one auto right in front of me just after shifting to left lane which I was initially blinded by another vehicle. As the auto was stationary I had to stop the vehicle within a second to avoid hitting it. I almost stood on the brakes. The breaking was as sudden as it could get but I couldn’t help but to knock my cars front left part onto that auto.

Although the impact wasn’t that bad the auto driver made use of this opportunity to put up a scene as though his whole auto was crushed. Within minutes many other auto drivers joined him and I knew all they want is money. I knew even if I explain to them the reason behind me hitting them they wouldn’t compromise for anything but money. So I told them ill bare the damage cost but to my horror they asked me Rs 10000 and leave, or else that he’ll wait for the police. He wasn’t even concerned about the passenger he was on with. There were 2 guys in the back seat of the auto, one working in HCL, and other in CTS. They happened to be room mates coming back from coimbatore after spending the holiday in their native place. One guy was fine but the other was in some sort of discomfort. I approached him and though he was able to talk there was actually some kind of water dripping from his nose. He had his head actually hit on the meter thing from that impact of my car hitting the auto.

There was a held up in that area as all the cars and motorist started slowing down at that place out of curiosity to see what was happening and having noticed that the traffic police who was at the signal came to the spot. The auto drivers started complaining to him and told him that I was drunk and driving the car and that I had hit his auto because I was drunk. I told the police that I’m not and he asked me to blow to verify it. He made them know that I wasn’t drunk and then he asked me to park the car at the side of the road and surrender the car keys. I knew that I was in trouble and the time was 10.30 pm. That’s when the flight was scheduled. I knew that the auto drivers will be making this a big issue so I immediately called my brother to arrange a travels car and pick my parents.

The traffic police immediately asked me to bring the guy who had a knock on his head to the hospital. Eventhough the guy seemed to be normal, but just the liquid dripping from his nose a little, the traffic police asked me to bring him to hospital just because that he got hit in the head. He told me head knocks can turn out to be serious and that it might not have immediate effect so he ordered me to take him to the hospital.

I took him to the hospital nearby. I explained to the doctor whatever that has happened and that guy was telling him how he got hit. Then the doctor told me that he wasn’t very sure whether the fluid is coming from the brain directly through skull or it was just from the nose remainings. However I tried to explain the doctor that it wasn’t a hard or serious accident and it might just be from the nose, he wasn’t in a position to conclude the case. Probably it being a private hospital even the doctor wanted to make it look serious and earn. Had it been a serious brain injury I don’t think he would be walking and talking normally. He looked perfectly fine to me. The doctor then made me do a scan on his skull for him and that itself had cost me Rs 2500. Once the scan report came he said the scan wasn’t very conclusive and that the guy should be kept in ICU for observation until the neuro doctor comes tomorrow. I was like totally shocked and somewhat frustrated because for such a small matter I was wondering why was everyone making it look so big.

The traffic police came to the hospital and he made it an accident case. The auto driver was also there as he wouldn’t leave without a compensation made to him. The police took the report from both auto driver and the other guy who was traveling in that auto. The auto driver was somewhat exaggerating the matter but I was helpless.

At that point of time, I had given up and I was preparing myself to face anything and everything. By that time my mom had arrived and she called me to ask what was happening. She sort of got worried and immediately wanted to come to the hospital. I told her the address and she was on her way. Meanwhile, I was asked to go to the police station as that auto driver and the guy wanted to register a case. Since the guy seemed educated I was asking him to settle the matter within ourselves and that I would compromise on the medical charges for his friend. He told, this being head injury and that his parents are not in station to be on the safer side he wanted to file a case.

It seemed fair to me so I agreed upon that and we all went to the police station. I was asked to surrender my license and car keys. The police got the complaint letter both from the auto driver and that guy. However he told that if the patient gets normal by the next day he will not make it a case and that he asked us to settle the matter within ourselves. We agreed upon that and we left the police station and we were asked to come back the next day 1 pm. The auto driver left and we both made our way back to the hospital. That guy was still in ICU. My mom had arrived by then. She spoke to that guys friends and asked if the injured guy is fine.

After about an hour I asked my mom to leave because she looked so tired. One of the guys friend agreed to stay at the hospital. It won’t be nice from our side if everyone leaves so I decided to stay and asked my mom to go and take rest. I was really down and felt really bad but I wasn’t able to share it with anyone because it was 3 in the morning. Though I was really tired I was unable to sleep in the chair where I was seated.

In the morning we went to the ICU and saw the guy. He seemed fine and he told there wasn’t any liquid dripping the whole night. That was some sort of a relief for me as that means any injury in his brain is ruled out. But still we were waiting for the confirmation from the neuro doctor. He came at around 9 in the morning. He saw the patient and he told he’s completely fine but he should remain under observation for one day.

I then took leave from the hospital to bath and get ready to be at the police station at 1pm. Everybody was under the impression that everything will be settled as that guy is normal now. His friend who wrote the complaint letter was willing to withdraw.

When everything seemed to be on track the real shock came when we went to the police station. The station inspector told he has already lodged an FIR and that the case is on. There is no way now anyone can back-off. That was really shocking because it would mean I’d be under arrest!

I started to raise my voice to that SI. I told him that hes not keeping his words and that he had told the case would not be valid if the patient was fine. But he told, it being a head injury anything can happen to him anytime and that its already registered. But the SI called me in silently and told me that whatever he has done would only benefit me and that’s because if the case becomes invalid I will be made to bare the charges for the hospital which would come to about Rs 25000 and the auto damages would cost me around Rs 10000. He asked me whether I want to spend Rs 35000 or pay a fine of Rs 1500.

This was really tricky. My grandfather is somewhat very influential person. I called him up to the station. He has contact with traffic police head and also the AC. He came to the station to help me out. He made me speak to the traffic police head and that guy also suggested me to do the same and that it would not affect me in any way in future. It wont be recorded as a black mark as its just an accident and not a murder or a crime or those sorts. It seemed logical to me as Id just have to spend around Rs 10000 for the entire process but the other option I’d be made to spend Rs 35000! My mom and grandfather gave me the assurance that this would not affect my career or life and so I agreed upon that.

I was officially arrested and released on bail :D Anyway it was just a normal formality. Nothing serious or I wasn’t put under any sort of embarrassment. In fact the traffic inspector and the SI became so friendly with me. :D

Everything was settled in the end and I went through a very valuable experience in my life which I would never forget. Through this process I got some good contacts which might help me out in future in case I get caught for small traffic cases such as not wearing helmet I can escape through the contact I’ve developed. :D

The Goulish Trial!

During my time in singapore i've done many crazy stuffs. One of my craziest or rather adventurous thing ive ever done in my life is my visit to Old Changi Hospital. Built in 1930's it’s a very famous hospital in Singapore and its well known for many infamous activities up till now. This hospital was alive during the world war two(Japanese occupation of Singapore), and during those times it was used as an army hospital to give treatment for the Japanese soldiers. Very soon after the world war it got isolated and left vacant there since then.

It is located in a small hill and many from the paranomial society have published stories about the building being haunted. The Hospital itself had 70+ years of rich history when it survived from the dreadful World War Two that took place from 1942 to 1945, witnessing the fall of Singapore and the brutal tortures towards the prisoners of war that happened there. Therefore, seeing spirits of all races and of different nationals wandering around in the compound would be a common sight.

Myself and three other friends of mine decided to go on an adventure to this hospital. It was on a weekday, and the time was around one at night. I had brought my car and I was driving with one friend in the front seat and two of them seated behind. We had actually heard about being haunted and stuffs but none of us believed in it. So that day we had decided to go and check it out ourselves.

The hill road that leads to that hospital was really dark. There was this eerie feeling while driving up the hill itself but all of us were pretending to be cool, at least myself coz ive never ever experienced this kind of outing ever in my life. There were no lights so it was really dark with only my car head lights. Finally when we reached the top, and was just about some distance away from the hospital entrance I stopped my car.

At that point we were like actually thinking whether to proceed or to back off. My friend seated in front with me was just flickering with the head lights suddenly from the first floor ward window we saw a shadow like human coming towards us, taking small steps, walking like a robot. None of us could actually believe whether what we are seeing is true but it was happening.

I immediately reversed my car and went off to the beach nearby and there we started talking leisurely but still none of us could believe whatever we saw. If it had been a normal human what would he being doing all alone at that time in that place and y would he approach us in that way. There are police cases of drug addicts at that place but whatever we saw didn’t seem like one. We were so sure because whatever we saw was not a solid human, it was just a shadow!

My next post ill elaborate on my adventure trip to the same place with one of my friend who is a girl (not girlfriend!). We both actually went inside the hospital to each and every corner. That will be real interesting though nothing fishy was seen during that time!!

The Snake and Snakes theory

A snake is said to be one of the first reptiles on planet Earth. Though snakes are generally thought to be poisonous, dangerous and basically a threat to other living things, some of them are non-poisonous. Poisonous snakes use their fangs in its mouth to either kill or immobilize its prey.

There are poisonous snakes in every family of snakes. Poisonous snakes are classified into four families, the Elapids, Viperids, Colubrids and Hydrophiidae. These are very basic details but let me not get too detailed into it.

The thought of snakes usually brings fear to human mind. But there is an exception because there is one snake which I personally know, that/who bites harder than any other snake but “it’s” not poisonous and that snake is none other than

:D

We first met at one of my friends house. She seemed very homely and shy type. She was so shy or maybe was scared to even come to the room we(me and few more of my friends) were at and talk at that time. But slowly as time went she started to show her real self and then I came to know she’s one of the worst rowdy!!

Shes very popular among her friends especially guys. Her best friend is a dog actually (patti). I've always wondered how a snake and a dog can get along. She loves pepsi a lot so if anyone wants to take her out please do have a 2l bottle Pepsi in hand. For more details of this reptile do visit “its” orkut profile.

And finally, a public call for all zoo keepers to catch hold of this reptile before it gets dangerous. :D

Joyful Singapore!!

Going for a holiday is something that not just me, but I’m pretty sure, it is something everybody looks forward to. Whether its summer or winter, whenever there is time to squeeze in for holidays ill be up for it. It’s been ever so long since I’ve had a proper holiday tour so through this post I would like to re-live some of the most cherished moments in my life.

Singapore

My first ever overseas tour was to Singapore. It was back in 1994 when I went there with my family. At that time I was really young and so I wasn’t as excited as I am at present and some while ago, probably because I didn’t know anything at that time and was so dependent on my parents.

It was just a month long tour during my summer holidays. My father had actually combined it with an official tour. Soon after we came back he had an offer to work there actually. So that’s when we had actually shifted there. My entire secondary education I did it there. So Singapore was no longer a holiday destination instead it became the place I had to grow up. In one of my previous post I had actually stated that one of my key strengths is to adapt to changes. This was my first change back in 1994.

It took time for me to settle but once I was actually settled it was the time of my life. The environment there was simply stunning and the places there were dead clean. The roads were all so smooth without any humps, very unlike to the roads in Chennai and slowly I started enjoying all these.

Now, sticking on to the holiday mood let me just quickly brief through some of the must visit places in Singapore.

  • Sentosa

Singapore as such is not a very big country. It is basically a small island in the South East Asia. If there is one place in Singapore that you have to visit then it is Sentosa. It is actually the most visited tourist spot in Singapore. There are basically three modes of transport through which you can get there. It is either through land, sea or air. Land obviously through bus or taxi or any vehicle and sea is through a ferry from world trade centre and finally by

air and no its not aeroplane but a cable car:D.

Some of the entertainment activities in this place are :

Underwater World – Asia's largest tropical oceanarium

In this place you’ll actually be made to stand on a moving escalator and while it moves u can actually experience the life under water

War memorial park – the view of the attacks made by Japanese soldiers on the British through sea.

Golf course

Silosa beach – this beach is simply too good. You have to be there to experience it. There won’t be any waves but the view, the sand, the water rides are too good to be missed if you’re there.

Musical Fountain – It a fountain where in music will be played and the fountain actually makes moves according to it. Laser flashes will make it more catchy especially after sunset.

There are plenty other place in Sentosa and the time just passes like anything when you’re at this place. You will need one full day to spend for all the activities that’s in there.

  • City

The whole city is known for its tall buildings, sky scrapers etc. The entire sight of the buildings from all angles is breathtaking. I’m sure having first hand experience will be one of the most precious moments in life to be had. I had this opportunity to go up this OUB Building which is of 105 floors. I went up to the 100th floor and the view was awesome. Those were some of my most treasured experiences which I will never ever forget in my life.

There is this theatre called Esplanade. It was built taking a shape of durian (fruit). It’s situated along the Singapore River and a nice place to spend the evening. There are plenty of theatres in it, shopping mall and restaurants. It’s a very romantic place at night. Your girlfriend will love it if you bring her out there especially in the night: P

  • Night Life

I’ve already written posts about some of my adventures in Singapore. All of those have been at nights. Unlike in India, it is really safe to roam around spending the night out in Singapore. Girls roaming around the clubs late at night is a common sight. They’ll be safe provided they themselves don’t get in any sort of troubles. Chijmes(picture) is one of the famous night clubs in Singapore. There are several others such as China Black, Hard rock CafĂ©, Asoka (for Indians but all are allowed) and many more.

  • Changi Airport

This airport is ranked number 1 in the world. You can actually spend the whole day in the airport as this place is very good for entertainment. You have gaming room actually placed to keep the transit passengers entertained while waiting but is open for all. Then you have the various fast food outlets like McDonald, Burger King, and Pizza Hut etc. You can also find some Indian restaurants in there. There are 3 terminals each of which are very huge and words just can’t explain about this place so you have to be there and feel it. First picture shows an aerial view of Singapore's Changi Airport, several times voted as the world's best airport. On two of the gates are Boeing 777's of Singapore airlines.

I can actually go on writing about this is place as it is where I was brought up and I’ve spent majority of my life here. Without any bias I’m suggesting it as a must visit place for everyone.
